home made lighting truss

Post by ccgoff »

I made this today and It seems like it will work well. I thought I'd share it with you guys and see if anyone else had made their own. I just do 2 big parties per year and I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on a truss. I used 1/2' Steel pipe with 5/8" rebar for bracing. I made a jig so that each end has the same spacing and can be pinned to whatever other sections I fabricate. This thing is so stout. I am really surprised how little flex it has. Since our party is outside I'm just going make pin in end caps to 2" steel pipe that is mounted in the ground.
Most of you guys probably find it useless, but I thought I'd share.
