You should always carry 3 to 5 pin dmx adapters. When purchasing them, always get the whip kind and not the streamline kind. The streamline ones put a lot of stress on your lights xlr connector.

Id agrre with Matt but any of the above is good to have in ur cable box!

Also handy to have is a crossed cable. pin3+ to Pin2+. That way if you come across a unit that has reveresd polarity you can still use it! (be sure to mark this cable clearly or you could end up using it incorrectly can cause yourself a big headache!)
