Fixture for generic 11 ch. moving head LED light

Post by tfmeier »

Bought a generic moving head from here http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/7550 ... 0525649413 and didn't realise it didn't come with a fixture file for FreeStyler (or any other controller for that matter) - attached are the instructions. Does anyone have a similar fixture I can use as a template? I'm looking for a starting point rather than a complete file (unless this is available) as putting this together is half the fun.

Also what's the easiest way in FreeStyler or the fixture builder to test a file?

Thanks heaps

Managed to get going here. There is a great tutorial on the FreeStyler wiki.

Started to fill in the main tab in Fixture Creator with the info I had on the "manual".

Then exported the file from FC and imported into FS. After selecting the fixture you see a number of sliders on the right hand of the screen corresponding to the channels you created in FC. Moving these sliders will activate the fixture, e.g. strobe, pan/tilt etc. This allows you to record detail not recorded in the manual.

So this is where I'm at. Still a way to go but looks like I'm well into getting this fixture done ;)

Well data sheets are often lousy. Either there is no images of gobo and colors but just a number or values are missing.
You have the luck that only the channels are given so it is hard work figuring out what the values are doing.
That is also mean that you are the only one who can do it as it requires the fixture so you test / detect each value.

So good luck :)
