Stairville LED 64 & Eurolite LED 64 problems

Post by djmattd »

Can I pick your brains please!

I can't seem to get any of my LED cans to respond to DMX, I have tried everything I can think of!

I've tried the following to all 6 individually and nothing!

dmx reverse cable
various xlr cables
various polarity changes within the actual usb adaptor XLR connector
pre-installed LED can fixture files
created my own fixture file

One of the 10mm LED cans flashes a very fast blue/white strobe when you plug the DMX in but thats it! Doesn't respond to slider changes

The dongle controls my moving heads with no problem so it can't be that, and I can't imagine that the DMX is broke on all 6 cans! (although I have ordered a brand new pair to rule this out)

Dip 1 is on for the Stairville cans (only 1 can added to freestyler & freestyler saying Dip 1 should be on)

Dip 1 & 10 is on for the eurolite cans (as per the manual) (Only one can added to freestyler & freestyler saying Dip 1 should be on)

Please help!

Ok a few quick suggestions.

I'm sure u have tried these already.

- Make sure other DMX devices work through freestyler using your cables and usb - dmx device. So you know your setup works correctly.

- Try and address the cans differently so its not number 1

- Use a different DMX software to ensure freestyler runnng on your system isnt at fault.

Hope it helps?

Hi there, thanks for the suggestions, although I have tried these already! Freestyler and my DMX dongle control my moving heads with no problem, and I've tried starting the address at 6
