Start up and Fav values work but shutdown value does not work

I manage a small stage at a community center, used once in a while by various groups (no tech), So I have setup freestyler to turn on all the stage lights at startup to a default settings, and it works great. I then turn off each fixture and then click on edit "save as shutdown value", and check "apply shutdown value on exit" but when I exit freestyler, the lights stay in their current states. restarting freestyler loads the defaults perfectly every time.

version 4.0.2 , Lixada USB to DMX adapter.
What am I doing wrong?
