FX generator question

I wonder why it is not possible to use the FX generator for only one fixture?
There are many cases I can see a sinewave or cosine could be used for only one fixture.
Of course I could have a 'dummy' fixture, but seems as a bad workaround.

Considering that those FX are meant to stagger lights in a pattern whether via dimmer or movement, using 1 light would not work. With only 1 light what are you trying to accomplish? What you are asking makes absolutely no sense to me unless I am completely misunderstanding you.

I hear you but what about if I want to have the tilt on ONE moving head move from a sinewave? Then FX generator cannot be used?
Maybe I misunderstood the main purpose of FX gen.
Is it possble to add sinewave to single fixtures somrwhere else in FS ?

You cannot make one fixture do a sine wave, that would just be up and down, no need for FX. The generator allows you to use multiple fixture to create an effect. There is no effect with one fixture.
