Freestyler won't start twice?!

Hey Folks,

Very new to this world but I've got frustrated before even getting going!

Very simply this is the steps I've taken...
1. Download latest version
2. Install (with defaults)
3. Run Freestyler
4. Select Virtual Interface
5. Skip the fixture selection
6. Close Freestyler
7. Launch Freestyler... here the splash screen appears and then disappears without actually getting the app launched.

I've tried this on two different laptops with different OS's with the same results?!?!? I've tried a reboot and still it woun't get past the splash screen. The ONLY way to get into the application again is to run the installer. Very strange!

Any help hugely appreciated!

I had the same problem when installing on a new comp. During install I saw a message come up saying NET 3.5 was missing. Once installed it would only start once. I installed NET 3.5 from windows, uninstalled the FS software, reinstalled it and now everything works great. Hope that helps.

Looks like I have a later version already installed (4.6)???

there is some kind of funky work around to make it work but it win't work with two of the same controllers native

I'm not sure what you mean by two controllers native.

At the moment I don't have a controller of any nature connected (waiting for an Enttec Pro to arrive). So if Universe 2 is set to 'No interface' should universe 1 be set to the same or to 'Virtual interface'??

I had this prob up until yesterday...then all I did was download the easy 3d app and installed it (Win10x64) and now everything is working like a dream.

I need to find this file. Every time I install Freestyler on my one laptop, it only starts once, then will not start again.

Having the same issue. Windows 7 home pro. Updates all current. Fresh install of latest freestyler x2, works during initial run, then saved, shutdown, reopened, gets to splash screen, then opens small dialog box, and all goes away. Status bar is at about 20% loaded when this offers. Only removing and reinstalling works then only one run and same thing. Using uDMX adapter, artnet and magic 3D easy visualized installed. Also tried clicking "reset all setttings" during install with same results. No other systems to try on. Any ideas?

SOLUTION!
During initial setup, I did not select an interface for universe 2. If you are using only one universe, set universe 2 to "Virtual". I did that and it runs flawlessly again. May need to update software to default to "virtual" (instead of "none selected") for both universes unless user changes it during setup.
