Do these ever get acted upon? I'm finding myself having to create awkward workarounds all the time and the suggestions have been "under consideration" since March.

One man makes this software, for every bit of code comes multiple other potential conflicts, you just have to be patient, if not go pay for something you do want!

You are a bit right when you say nothing is happening when it is "under consideration".
I think the only time he looks at these suggestions is when he are to redesign the part of the code where the suggestion have an impact.
Also I think that most of the time goes firefighting as this is a complex software where even a small change have influence at many instances.
And it takes for ever to make a 100% test for one man.
