Hi Guys, Figured id share.

Recently decided I needed to make my kitchen into more of a party zone. As I use FS for other things and had some spare lights, i got to work.

Goal:
Automated lighting, Press of a button all should come online and start working with a mobile app to control them

Issues:
The mobile app doesnt work with this version of FS.
The lights I had were black and wouldnt look good on the wall.
No way to automate it.

Fixes:
Wrote a new web application that can be run from a local server to access the DMX API on FS.
Bought wireless power socket to control lights.
Bought "micro PC" to remain hidden and automatically login on boot, start freestyler and the webserver to control the lights.

I like it!
i'm "builing" a home system myself too but i'm using LED Pars.
I'm updating my simple ADJ P56 Led cans for ADJ Mega Hex pars (RGBAWUV) at the moment, those light are super!
Pretty simple but it works and with the PC Dimmer program i can use the lights for Ambilight too

I did think of using scanners or moving heads too but I don't need my home to be a club and i don't have much use for moving light in normal use either i think.
What do you use your moving heads for when you're not throwing a party?

Howdy, I dont use them at all for anything else other than parties.

I have some led par cans that sit behind plants and stuff also.

But yeah, Its just a "Lets get a party going" if we have a bunch of people over and I just press a single button.

That was a lot of work to run the cabling in the ceiling. Doesn't look like much attic space, either. Looks awesome!
