Wow, thats cheap.
Still, maybe obvious, this is no DMX cable. So I would'nt risk problems buying it for light jobs.

Dirty 485 (sorry DMX) will work just fine over that cable. There are only really issues with crap (sorry cheap) cable over very long runs or if you have a LOT of fixtures. In any case a dmx terminator would probably sort your issues if you get any!

Just as a point - I use universal 1 pair + screen, its good for audio and lighting alike, infact I use it for all sorts!
I use it for commercial installations and have never bothered with a terminator and never had a problem.
Its worth mentioning that I only ever use Neutrik xlr's - nothing else comes close! The connectors on the cable on that link look like shite ones!

im with DMXLighting,

I use "audio" xlr's all the time for DMX and never had an issue.
Its a lot easier to stock one type of xlr cable and use it for either purpose.

I know, it could (and often will) work good. Still there is a big technical difference between regular low-cost audio cabling or real DMX cabling.
As stated, in tiny universes it would'nt make a difference most of the time. But problems may arise when using larger setups.
I like to play on safe, always. Because if there is a problem, it can be too late to do something about it.
