Hi there,
New, so please be gentle.
I have a Chauvet Colorband Pix-M, Like the one pictured. It has been successfully set up in 10Ch mode in Fixture creator, and works as expected in FS, including tilt slider.
This has a motorised tilt function, that would be useful to automate using the Pan/Tilt controller panel in FS.
By default the 'minimum' movement criteria for a fixture seems to be Pan-only, which is kind-of the opposite of what I want. Consistent with this, if 8bit 'Tilt' channel is specified, the panel is not available.
I guess I could just set up tilt as pan, but is there another / better workaround?
Thanks in anticipation.
Tilt Function Only -- Colorband Pix-M Topic is solved

Re: Tilt Function Only -- Colorband Pix-M
Hej
You don't need to place the movement control on the Pan Tilt panel.
If you place it on the custom slider and then the default value set to 127 then it will the same as the PT panel.
The PT panel only give you the Blue ball to control the fixture with but as you only have one direction to control it don't make a huge difference to the slider control.
// remember to upload the fixture so you can help other users.

Re: Tilt Function Only -- Colorband Pix-M
Thanks Jan.
I guess I'll stick with 'stepped' control of the tilt function via scenes. Will upload some fixtures when they are sorted properly. There are a few that are being refined to get them right.

Re: Tilt Function Only -- Colorband Pix-M
I am not sure what you mean when you say "Stepped" but as you only have tilt it, to me, don't make sense to use Bezier shapes.
But I may be wrong.
If you place tilt on the gobo1 channel then you can still use the FX generator to make some funny scenes and maintain a fixture of 10 channel.
Or you can make a fixture 11 channel large and place Pan on channel 11. It will then act as a dummy channel.
You colorband will still react as normal and FS will send the Pan information to an empty channel where no one is listening.
In this case you will have PT panel and all shape functions available and you will have the FX generator.

Re: Tilt Function Only -- Colorband Pix-M
Thanks again Jan,
I guess the shape generator seemed like an easy way to create smooth movement without creating multiple steps (stepped) within a sequence (bear in mind I am still feeling out exactly how FS works).
The dummy channel solution seems to work well for me, and it was easy enough to move the addresses of the subsequent fixtures along to allow for it.
The tilt-vector only in the bezier shapes provides some quite pleasing effects with this fixture: circle --> sine , rectangle -->tilt/pause, flower, swirl etc.
This was just what I wanted. Moreover, this is easy, and will co-ordinate with other moving head fixtures (if required).
Could it be that it is worth extending the minimum requirement to pan OR tilt only, to prevent the need for a dummy channel?
I think 'Tilt only' is just as valid a function for this fixture as 'Pan only' may be for others.
I will upload this and Mini Kinta fixture files when I have them perfected. Thanks again.
Now will head over to the Paypal button.

Re: Tilt Function Only -- Colorband Pix-M
Well I raised the feature request for a one axis control, (Pan or Tilt), long time ago but Raphl have put it on consideration list.
