Re: Martin Roboscan pro218 mk1 prob
Hi Dave
There could be a possibility that there is a fixture file in the new releases here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=4528
If there isn't then you will have to create one, yes. If you so wish you could use the MK2 as a starting point to create the fixture file for the MK1, but just be careful when doing this even if they are similar.
If you need any help then don't be afraid to ask.
Regards
Nathan

Re: Martin Roboscan pro218 mk1 prob
Hi,
Important question, are the mk1's the actual mk1's? As in only 6 dip switches.
If they are then they operate martin's proprietary own brand protocol of the time, and not standard dmx512. If this is the case to prevent all kinds of problems or damage just don't even try. If they are the next version up with 10 dipswitches then I have a manual for them I can send you to check your channel assignments, etc.

Not sure about controller never used that one, but I believe if memory serves me right that you can retrofit a mk2 board into a mk1 light if you can get hold of them.
There is also a mk1 version of the 2510 controller that would work (provided its original RS-485 and not upgraded to dmx version). But since your on the freestyler forum I would urge you to stick with standard dmx as it would be much easier to change things and incorporate new lights into shows, etc in the future.
There is also a Martin protocol - dmx512 converter but you need to be careful here as I don't remember slow scans and movements being very smooth with that.

Re: Martin Roboscan pro218 mk1 prob
Sorry I don't know who stocks them, but the mk2 board is Martin part number 62000003.
You would need to double check with supplier that it comes complete with all the chips already installed (I think it does but haven't seen or touched one in many years). My concern though is that a new board or even the converters cost may prove above what that light is worth.
