Hey guys,
I've been using freestyler to control my four moving head pr 150s's for some time and it works fine. I programmed some basic shows with the lights hooked up 'live' so to speak. I'd like to get a bit more advanced and do some 'off line' programming, using the 3d editor for example.
The problem that I have come across is that in the 3D program, I have a choice of fixtures, one of which is 16 bit and uses 8 channels. This is what my lights require. So the fixture start address for head 1 is '1', head 2 is '9', head 3 is '17' and head 4 is '25'.
Now in freestyler (main program) the only fixture that exists as a option assigns the fixtures as if they had only 6 channels. So the fixture start address for head 1 is '1', head 2 is '7', head 3 is '13' and head 4 is '19'.
What I did to get around this when I first used freestyler was to simply change the start address in freestyler to the 'correct' ones. This works fine with my lights in a live enviroment.
However what I have now found is that with this work around, I can not use the 3D visualiser, its not working properly. I guess what all this means is that I need a proper 16 bit fixture file for freestyler that matches the one avilable in the 3d visualiser.
My question therefore is:
1) can somehow copy the file from the 3D visualiser into freestyler?
2) does a 16 bit fixture file already exist?
3) can I modify the 8 bit file that is in freestyler now, to 16 bit easily?
Sory for all the questions, I've really tired to figure this out myself but I've come to an impass.
Many thanks for any help.

Hej Kristoffdj.
I just had a fast look in the usermanual and if I am correct then it is only the pan tilt that are in 16 bit mode.
You just have to open the fixture creator and correct it.
You can have a look in the "Wiki" there should be some examples.
By the way, what fixture are you using.

Re: Pearl River pr 150 pilot. Different fixture files?
Hi Jan thanks for your help.
I have had a look at the fixtures creator in wiki and I have created a new fixture with the 16bit pan tilt. This works great with both the lights in 'real life' and with the 3d visualiser. The only problem that I have now is that I can use the 3d visualiser to create shows and add them to the cue list etc.... when I play them back the visualiser doesnt playback the show, it just stays static on the last step. With the lights hooked up they work just as they should and play the show. But the visualiser doesn't. It makes it hard to view what I have done in the office without the lights.
Any ideas as to why that might be?

Re: Pearl River pr 150 pilot. Different fixture files?
I was thinking of what fixture in FreeStyler you are using.
Could not find any pearl river.
I am not hardcore 3D user but there can also be errors in the fixture in the 3D visualiser.
There you have to look on the fixture with scanlibrary editor.
I have had some odd behaviour on some oby fixture where I had to oben iris 100% before it worked and that was an error in the visualiser fixture.
Also are you sure that your show is running as expected.
You can monitor what dmx values FreeStyler send in the "Output" panel.
Also check that the visualiser follow the controls / scener that you make step by step.

Re: Pearl River pr 150 pilot. Different fixture files?
it can also be caused if you have the Create sequence window open.
1)So IF you playback from the CUE or subasters it will be Show on 3D and interface. (Create sequence window Closed)
2)IF you PLayback from the CUE or subasters it will be Show on the interface, and if Sequence creator is open it will be shown on 3D. this works realy nice if you like to create a Sequence durring playback

Re: Pearl River pr 150 pilot. Different fixture files?
Nice one guys, all sorted.
Working fine with the fixtures hooked up, and with the 3d interface. Thanks both for your help.
I now need to spend some time with the program and understand how to use groups, and the overide facilty etc... so I can strobe the lights on demand no matter what scene they are running and things like that. I'd also like keyboard shortcuts to quickly select each fixture so I can creat changes on the fly without having to use the select fixture tool bar button. I'm guessing the only way to do this is to make a group with just one fixture in it and then assign that group a keyboard shortcut?
Jan - the fixture is listed in the 'pr' folder in freestyler. Just needed the 16 bit channels adding like you kindly suggested, it then works correctly.
I've a wedding gig tomorrow where these fixrtures will be in use so I might post some video of them doing their thing if anyone would be interested.

Cloud you please tell what the problem was.
We will not be laughing but we are just curious to know if it is something we have to write more clear on the wiki.
